Mountain Bike Orienteering (MTBO) is the newest of the orienteering disciplines administered by the IOF.

The 2009 European Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships (EOC) will be held in Farum, Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 22 – 28.

This is a joint event for several championships in mountain bike orienteering. The event center is located at Birkerød, in North Zealand, 20 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Many of the forests in North Zealand were once used for hunting by the kings of Denmark and still have a vast network of roads and paths suitable for MTBO.

EOC MTBO 2009 Denmark will include Sprint, Middle, Long, and Relay championship events and include the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, Portugal and Ukraine.

*NOTE: The United States Orienteering Federation (USOF) has never registered a team or sent a representative to this event since it began in 2006.
